Client Testimonial

posted by symmetry on Jul 24th, 2008 at 3:30 pm

Occasionally I do videography for private events. I built my business shooting weddings and family events in the San Francisco Bay Area beginning in 2000. These days I only do them for previous clients because I have shifted my focus to corporate clients and local businesses.

In May I shot a Bar Mitzvah in Marin for a client who hired me back in 2004 to shoot her older son's Bar Mitzvah. It was a large event with many people in the radio and television industry (she is a professional voice for hire). Here is what she had to say about the photo slideshow I created for the event:

I loved the video and we DID get many compliments. Obviously, I'm partial, but I've seen a lot of Bar Mitzvah videos and they are typically too long and feature too many songs, which makes it choppy. I loved ours and we had a number of people in the crowd with video, musical and production backgrounds...all very critical people and they raved about it. It was great.

Local Scoop: Warriors, Robots and Races

The hottest ticket right now in Oakland is for the Golden State Warriors playoff games. Fans have blanketed the city in WE BELIEVE banners. I saw a sign for 2 tickets at the Grand Lake Farmers Market this weekend. One vendor was selling bleacher seats for $250. Next game is May 15th at Utah. Go Warriors!

Like homemade robots, fire sculptures, kite hacks or power tool drag races? The Maker Faire is for you! Check out all sorts of DIY projects and clever hacks this weekend at the San Mateo fairgrounds:

A two-day, family-friendly event that celebrates arts, crafts, engineering, science projects and the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset. It's for creative, resourceful folks who like to tinker and love to make things. We call them Makers.

Think you're the King of Fling? Enter your home-brew catapult device for the King of Fling contest. Tickets for Maker Faire are still on sale. See you there on Sunday!

TRG J-Lowe Racing Daytona 24 Rolex 2007 On Saturday I will be traveling down to the Laguna SECA race track in Monterey for some professional sports car racing action. I am shooting footage for Team TRG, who will have several cars racing in both classes. I covered TRG at Daytona Speedway in January, where J-Lowe Racing took third position for the GT class. This will be my third time returning to Laguna SECA. Tickets are $20.

If you've never been to a race, then consider going this weekend. It will be tons of fun and the kids will love it. You can even bid on an auction to win a pit crew pass and 2 night stay at some fancy hotel in Carmel. The auction ends Wednesday at noon and it's currently only at $250. I'd do it if I didn't already have a pit pass!
